Ravenshoe Railway Caravan Park

Every stay helps to restore the heritage steam railway

Experience the Southern Atherton Tablelands

If you’re travelling through Far North Queensland with your caravan in tow, Ravenshoe is the perfect place to slow down, breathe in the fresh mountain air, and explore one of the most diverse regions of the Atherton Tablelands. And there’s no better place to stay than the Ravenshoe Steam Railway & Caravan Park — where history, community and the open road come together.

Set right in the heart of town, the caravan park surrounds the historic Ravenshoe railway station, giving visitors the unique experience of camping among heritage rail buildings, restored carriages and a magnificent steam locomotive. It’s a setting that feels like stepping back into Queensland’s pioneering past.

A Caravan Park with Character

The park offers spacious powered and unpowered sites across almost five hectares, providing plenty of room for caravans, motorhomes and campers.

With clean amenities, hot showers, a laundry, camp kitchen and plenty of open space, it’s an easy and comfortable place to settle in for a few nights or longer.

Everything you need is just a short walk away. Cafés, supermarkets, hotels, a bakery and local shops are all nearby, making it easy to restock supplies or enjoy a meal out without moving your van.

And if you’re travelling with a furry companion, you’ll be pleased to know the park is pet-friendly, with beautiful shaded spaces perfect for stretching legs and enjoying the cooler Tablelands climate.

Reviews from past guests

"What a lovely spot. I can't fault this place. Everything is great. Close to shopping. Lovely little town. Caretaker Mary is lovely. Nothing is too difficult for her. Live music is on Thursday and Saturday. G strings are the band. All locals."

Steve - Google Review

"The caravan sites are surrounded by various pieces of rail history memorabilia such as rolling stock and other items. Walk to the Station platform to use the loos. My site was shady and quiet and close to a nice little camp kitchen. The amenities were so clean I couldn't see a cobweb anywhere. No build of dust or debris. Thoroughly and spotlessly clean. A very nice stay, and easy walk to shops, bakery and pubs."
